Benefits of Region 1 VA SCAN

Region 1 VA SCAN(Specialty Care Access Network) is an innovative and transformative healthcare program developed by the Office of Healthcare Transformation in cooperation with the Office of Specialty Care and the Office of Primary Care to treat chronic and complex diseases in remote and underserved areas of VISN’s 1 through 4. Through the use of evolving technology, VA SCAN bridges the gap between urban healthcare specialists and primary care providers and PACT teams in remote areas or in settings without tertiary care specialty services.
